The quality of the electrode is very important to ensure optimal recording during EEG, EMG, ECG or OEG. Gold or silver-silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) cup electrodes (cup electrodes) are used for reliable and stable recording during EEG and PSG examinations. The shape of the electrode ensures low impedance and easy positioning at various main/head sites.

For a reliable measurement, first treat the patient's skin with a skin cleansing cream such as Nuprep. Then stick the Gold Cup electrode to the patient's scalp using an adhesive conductive gel/paste (such as Lic2 or EC2). The adhesive conductive paste can also be refilled through a small integrated opening in the cap.
